Principles
- Define the research question and denominator before inspecting the result.
- Observed facts, calculated outcomes, and modeled inference remain separate evidence states.
- Every benchmark requires cohort definition, provenance, timeframe, freshness, exclusions, and material limitations.
- Customer and provider privacy, permission, aggregation, and re-identification risk are reviewed before publication.
- Provider comparisons require sufficiently comparable populations rather than superficial normalization.
- Commercial relationships cannot affect sample inclusion, weighting, benchmark thresholds, or interpretation.
- Methodology and material limitations publish with the result so the number can survive scrutiny.
Limitations
- The public website does not currently publish platform-derived market benchmarks merely to imply scale.
- A large record count alone does not establish representative market coverage.
- Topic-specific sample sufficiency must be defined before publication rather than using one universal minimum sample.
- Modeled environmental, valuation, or predictive outcomes must not be relabeled as observed benchmarks.
- Research publication does not convert ITAD Lens into a regulator, ratings agency, or independent auditor.
